Though we’re only on the cusp of spring, Weezer has released a new song entitled “Feels Like Summer,” available now via all digital services and streaming providers.
Following the band’s Grammy-nominated 2016 release Weezer (The White Album), which saw the alt-rockers expand their sound in new directions, “Feels Like Summer” is the first taste of Weezer’s forthcoming 11th album, due for release later this year.
The HRAC faithful should take note that Weezer has three quite strong entries in hi-res available right now on HDtracks: both the standard and deluxe editions of the aforementioned Weezer (The White Album) are in 96/24, as is their 2014 album, Everything Will Be Alright.
Here’s hoping some of the band’s earlier efforts, such as their 1994 debut Weezer (The Blue Album), which features three of their most indelible tracks — “Buddy Holly,” “Undone – The Sweater Song,” and “Say It Ain’t So” — and the highly influential emo-centric 1996 follow-up, Pinkerton, get the hi-res treatment sooner rather than later. I’d also vote for hi-res offerings for the heavy melodic riffage of “Hash Pipe,” from 2001’s Weezer (The Green Album), and the catchy crunch-stomp of “Beverly Hills,” from 2005’s Make Believe.

Weezer will also be performing “Feels Like Summer” on TV for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this upcoming Tuesday, March 21, on ABC at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT.
Additionally, Weezer will be embarking on a full European tour this fall, their first since 2005, in addition to headlining London’s prestigious Wembley Arena in October. Prior to that, the band will be playing major festivals throughout the United States. Full tour dates are listed below.
